About me
Working out of my offices in Woburn Sands I represent both litigants and solicitors in England and Wales in relation to costs disputes. I am as experienced as any working in this field and bring to bear over 40 years experience and knowledge gained on the cases that I handle.
What they say:
"Murray Heining is the oracle in Legal Aid matters and his seminars are second to none."
"The appeal has been attractively packaged and presented by Mr Heining" (R v. Sood Costs Law Reports 520)
“I would like you to know that the NHSLA was delighted with the result in the case of B where you attended the Detailed Assessment and obtained a substantial reduction in T’s costs. The report you provided to me was circulated around some of the NHSLA staff so that they could see the objections raised by you and the criticisms of Ts by the District Judge.”
"You have been a fantastic leader for us all especially in the Legal Aid world."
Undertanding clients' needs
I am conscious of the importance to receiving parties to recover the extent of their liabilities to their legal representatives as far as is possible.
I recognise that where solicitors represent receiving parties under conditional fee agreements it is important to them that they attain the best possible recovery.
I appreciate the importance to paying parties to ensure that their liabilities for costs are restricted to proportionate levels.
I regard the need for legal aid practitioners to obtain the maximum recovery of costs whilst ensuring that there is no abuse of the legal aid system and no breach of the key performance indicators.
I understand the concerns of clients that they are not overcharged.
